Adolescent and Child Trauma (ACT) Lab

Below you will find information about trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and our current research projects.

About the ACT Lab:

The Adolescent and Child Trauma (ACT) Lab researches childhood trauma and childhood posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ACT Lab has focused its efforts on examining risk and protective factors for childhood PTSD, with a particular emphasis on the effects of child maltreatment in the development of PTSD.

Current Projects:

Current projects are investigating the diagnostic criteria for PTSD within maltreated youth to advance the diagnosis and treatment of childhood PTSD. In collaboration with the Department of Family Services (DFS) sites in Las Vegas, the ACT Lab conducts assessments and provides group therapy services for maltreated youth in Southern Nevada.
